All the staff at the Warm Zones office in North Shields on Tyneside are now “Dementia Friends”.
Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.
All the staff at the Warm Zones office in North Shields have taken part – finding out more about the condition and watching some specially made videos to help improve everyone’s understanding of Dementia and how best to help those that have the condition.
“As well as being a very worthwhile initiative in its own right, this is perfectly aligned with the Warm Zones’ commitment to customer service”, said Warm Zones Director David Connor. “It has helped us all better understand what living with dementia means for people and the small actions we can all take to help make their lives a little easier”.
Warm Zones will now roll this initiative out to all staff so that the entire company will soon be Dementia Friends.
